The Reece Farm

Experience early 20th century Appalachian farm life! Petting farm, fruit and vegetable production, restored barns, corn crib, chicken house, smokehouse, spring house.  The Reece Farm is located at 8552 Gainesville Highway, Blairsville, GA (706) 745-2034


Historic Courthouse & Mountain Life Museums

The Old Courthouse Museum has a wide range of exhibits and information pertaining to the history of Union County.  The Mountain Life Museum, located one block south of the Old Courthouse, consists of several historic buildings: the Mock House and the Civil War-era Payne Cabin, barn, corn-crib and smithy.  These historic structures are maintained by the Union County Historical Society.


The Hunter-England Cabin

The oldest cabin in Union County, it was built by John Hunter between 1832-1834.  The historic cabin is now on display at the Union County Farmers Market located at 148 Old Smokey Rd, Blairsville.


Choestoe School House

Many notable Georgians, including two state Supreme Court justices, began their education in this one-room schoolhouse. The refurbished wood structure now houses photos, old school desks and other historic relics.  The old Choestoe School House is available for rent and is located at 1034 Collins Rd., Blairsville GA.

A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Union County Courthouse, 65 Courthouse Street,
Courtroom A, Blairsville, Georgia

The purpose of this hearing will be for Union County to provide information and answer questions regarding the abandonment of Old Lows Mill Road and Old Ivy Log Road as they no longer serve a useful public purpose.
