This department issues septic permits for all residential and commercial property where septic systems are required. Repair permits and add-on permits for existing systems are also issued by this office. A septic permit is required before a building permit can be issued.

In addition, this office inspects restaurants, tourist establishments, public swimming pools and spas, performs water samples for individual water supplies, rabies investigations, and complaint investigations.
