The Magistrate Judge is an elected official in Union County. His office processes various criminal and civil matters and small claims up to $15,000.

The Criminal section issues warrants, and holds bond, committal and 1st appearance hearings for certain offenses such as possession of marijuana and petty theft.

The civil section of the Magistrate office issues foreclosures, garnishments, and Fi-FA's, Dispossessories, Abandoned Vehicles, Interrogatories.

The Magistrate Judge also performs marriages.
