The Union County Short-term Rental (STR) Ordinance went into effect April 8, 2023.
The ordinance can be downloaded and printed from this LOCATION.

STR BOARD

The ordinance established an STR Board comprised of seven local Union County residents to include one representative from the Union County Fire Department, the Union County Building & Development, a local property management company, an STR owner, the STR Officer, and two community members at large. The governing authority shall establish powers, duties, rules, and regulations governing short-term rentals consistent with the provisions of the ordinance.  The 2023 STR Board is as follows:

The Union County STR Board will hold its Regularly Scheduled Business Meetings for 2023 as follows. All meetings are held at 5:00 p.m. in Conference Room 201 at the Union County Community Center located at 129 Union County Rec Road, Blairsville, GA 30512 unless otherwise indicated.  The dates for 2024 are:

Feb. 3, 2025 ~ April 21, 2025 ~ June 9, 2025

Aug. 11, 2025 ~ Sept. 8, 2025 ~ Nov. 3, 2025

Meetings are open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 5:00pm in the Union County Courthouse, 65 Courthouse Street, Blairsville, Georgia. MEETING AGENDA.

The purpose of this hearing will be for Union County to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed revisions to the following Union County Code of Ordinances:

1. Chapter 60, Short-term Rentals
2. Chapter 10, Article III, Alcoholic Beverages
3. Chapter 18, Article IV, Div.2, Section 18-105

Copies of the proposed revisions are available on the Union County website at www.unioncountyga.gov, in the Union County Commissioner’s Office, and the Union County Clerk of Court’s Office.
