Vital Records

The Probate Court is the vital records for Union County. Certified copies of birth and death certificates can be obtained in the office in person or requested through the mail.

Fees for vital records are uniform across the state of Georgia:

– $25 for the first copy
– $5 for each additional copy of the same person requested at the same time

  • To request by mail, please mail the request along with a cashier’s check or money order, a copy of your identification, and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Probate Court address above.  Request must include full name, date of birth, county of birth, parents names, requester’s name, telephone number, and relationship. (Self, parent, grandparent, adult sibling, child, or legal representative.)
  • Request in person; pay by cash, local check, or credit card.
  • To request online, please visit the Georgia State Office of Vital Records link below.
    Must include all information as stated above and a copy of your photo ID, telephone number, and mailing address.

OFFICIAL NOTICE

Union County Government and related offices will be closed November 28 & 29, 2024 in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays. Offices will reopen December 3, 2024.

The Union County BOARD OF ASSESSORS regular meeting has been
rescheduled from Wednesday, November 27th to Friday, November 22nd at
1:00pm due to scheduling conflicts.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Union County Courthouse, 65 Courthouse Street, Blairsville, Georgia. The purpose of this hearing will be for Union County to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed 2025 Budget for Union County.
