Land Disturbance Permits

Building & Development issues Land Disturbance Permits for any project that requires land disturbance of one (1) acre or more or for any project that is located in a planned development recorded on or after August 1, 2000.  An Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plan must be prepared by a registered surveyor, engineer or landscape architect. Three (3) copies of the Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plan must be submitted for review along with an Application for Land-Disturbing Activity Permit to the appropriate office.  Please call 706 439-6045 for more detailed information.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 5:00pm in the Union County Courthouse, 65 Courthouse Street, Blairsville, Georgia. MEETING AGENDA.

The purpose of this hearing will be for Union County to provide information and answer questions regarding the proposed revisions to the following Union County Code of Ordinances:

1. Chapter 60, Short-term Rentals
2. Chapter 10, Article III, Alcoholic Beverages
3. Chapter 18, Article IV, Div.2, Section 18-105

Copies of the proposed revisions are available on the Union County website at www.unioncountyga.gov, in the Union County Commissioner’s Office, and the Union County Clerk of Court’s Office.
