Closed: Sundays, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
and closing at 12:00pm on Christmas Eve Day

Individual household trash rate:
up to 30 gallon bags: $1.50 per bag
over 30 gallon bags: $2.00 per bag
Commercial trash rate:
The price per ton is $57.00 per ton and
the minimum charge to cross the scales is $20 for up to 700 pounds
No Yard Waste is accepted
Regulations:
County Ordinance O-2000-004 states that all trucks hauling solid waste must be suitably enclosed or covered to prevent littering. Violators of this ordinance are subject to the citation and shall be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance.
The Transfer Station is owned and operated by the Union County Government. The station currently accepts bagged trash and recyclables from residential users. This is not a landfill. All solid waste is transported to a landfill located elsewhere in Georgia.

Recycling
There is no charge for recycling and all locations accept the following:
#1 Plastics PETE: soft drink bottles, mineral water bottles, fruit juice bottles, cooking oil containers
#2 Plastics HDPE: milk jugs, cleaning containers, laundry detergent & bleach containers, shampoo bottles
#3 Cardboard: flattened corrugated boxes, clean pizza boxes, NO STYROFOAM
#4 Mixed Paper: discarded mail, telephone books, books, paperboard, cartons, magazines, catalogs
#5 Aluminum: aluminum beverage cans, aluminum pet food cans, NO STEEL CANS
#6 Glass: glass bottles, glass jars, glass containers
